Violin Adventures with Courtney Brendal. Join in the fun learning about the violin and its unique and rich sounds. Each child will have a hands-on experience with their own violin. Limited seating. Ages 4-8.

Can you Hear It? Listen to the sounds of the piano being played with Rilla Stone while the story “Can You Hear it” by William Lach is read out loud. Children will be able to see first hand how music influences storytelling.

Art in Music: Storyteller Fran Stallings will tell “Dancing Words: Stories to Dance About” as a prelude to princess tea Tuesday. Learn about world folktales in which dancing plays a key role and will include “Twelve Dancing Princesses.”

TUESDAY, June 13, 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Hopestone, 206 SE Frank Phillips Blvd. Cost $3. Reservations required.
Art in Crafts: Children will join Tamika Straw for Punchinello with a Guitar by Pablo Picasso. The children will create a clown collage using colorful sheets of paper cut into different shapes, using glue and scissors to create their clown. During storytime, kids will hear a popular book called Nibbles. It’s about a little monster that loves to eat books, and he jumps into different books and changes the story. After reading the book, the children will make a Nibbles bookmark to take home.

Princess Tea — Daughters and mom or friend can enjoy an afternoon of tea, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by harpist Kathy Stewart.

Prairie Woman — Julie Pattison and Erinn Rakes will discuss the history of the buffalo statues throughout the community and then attendees will paint a small buffalo. These will be displayed in the Art Gallery at Price Tower until the end of June.
