OK MOZART brings the highest quality professional musical and cultural experience to the state of Oklahoma and the middle United States. A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Dear Music Lovers,

I’m so happy and excited to welcome you to the 29th season of the OK Mozart International Festival and my first season as Artistic Director. I’ve been hearing about the Festival for the past several years and finally got a chance to come as a guest conductor two years ago. I finally was able to experience the warmth of the audiences that come to Bartlesville each year to enjoy some of the most wonderful music making in the country. Since being appointed Artistic Director this past fall I’ve made many good friends and I look forward to making many more.

This year’s Festival reflects a shift to thematic programming and this year’s theme is “America, the Beautiful.” We’ll be celebrating with music by American composers like George Gershwin, John Williams, Harold Arlen, John Corigliano, Jerod Tate and many others. One of the greatest sources of American music is Hollywood and so our opening concert features “The Wizard of Oz” with the Amici New York Orchestra playing the score live while the film is projected on the big screen.

OK Mozart’s reputation for presenting great soloists is well known all around the country and this year is no exception. From pianist, Jon Kimura Parker to Tony Award Nominee Norm Lewis to the Mirò String Quartet to our own Erica Kiesewetter and the Bartlesville Choral Society, this year’s music making promises to be nothing short of electric. Crossover artists Hot Club of Cowtown and banjo virtuoso Noam Pikelny and Friends will be joining us to round out the Festivals offerings. Look for our outstanding Showcase events throughout the week as well.

There’s something for everyone at OK Mozart’s celebration of the musical bounty of our great nation. Come to the 29th OK Mozart International Festival and take part in our celebration of “America, the Beautiful”!

See you there!
