The Biscuit Grabbers Will Be Featured at Haskell’s Loft on January 17
Bartlesville, Ok – OK Mozart and Original Artist Agency have again joined forces to bring the next in their series of house concerts to downtown Bartlesville. The Austin, Texas western swing and jazz combo, The Biscuit Grabbers, will make their Green Country debut on Thursday, January 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Haskell’s Loft, 115 Frank Phillips Boulevard. The loft is being provided by Mark and Debbie Haskell.
The Biscuit Grabbers are a self-described “hillbilly-jazz” combo, playing original music inspired by early Jazz, Western Swing and Classic Country. Huck Johnson, who plays upright bass does vocals, and Matt Thomas, who plays guitar and pedal steel as well as doing vocals, met while touring the world with legendary honky-tonker, Wayne “The Train” Hancock.
Fiddle player and singer Katy Rose McComb, well-known for her work with Shotgun Party, was recently brought aboard to round out this ensemble and provide a fiery touch to the group’s repertoire.
OKM and OAA have brought perhaps a half-dozen of these “house-concert” style events to Bartlesville over the last 16 months in an effort to showcase talent that would otherwise not have a suitable venue in Bartlesville, and to also provide concert-goers the opportunity to enjoy a performance in some of downtown’s unique spaces. Concerts have been held at The Haskell residence, The Kress Building and also at Frank & Lola’s Restaurant.
“We’re excited to welcome The Biscuit Grabbers as the featured performers for our next house concert,” said OKM Executive Director, Shane Jewell. “Concerts such as these broaden OKM’s programming repertoire and serve to develop a wider audience. In addition to the excitement this performance will generate in the community, because the logistical requirements were completely donated, all proceeds of ticket sales directly go to support the OK Mozart Festival.”
Tickets for this concert are $20 in advance, $25 day of show and will go on sale beginning Monday, December 17. Complimentary beer, wine and light appetizers are included. Tickets can be purchased online at www.okmozart.com, via phone at 918-336-9800, or in person at the OK Mozart Box Office, 415 S. Dewey Avenue.
The OK MOZART International Festival takes place every June in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and is made possible through the support of the Oklahoma Arts Council as well as many other corporate, individual, and foundation patrons throughout the United States.
